If you mean contact between different cultures, I'd say you realize that everything is an opinion and good and bad are just words. It teaches you not to be judgemental, since our behavioural patterns depend on our social conditioning. So a thing that is considered good and moral in our culture could very well be plain wrong in another. I'd say it broaden the horizons. Take care
