Do you think 3 years is a big age gap between people?

  Three years is a very small age gap when you compare it to an average human lifespan. However, you can still accomplish a LOT in a 3 year period. Just because someone has accomplished more than you and they're a few years younger, you shouldn't get discouraged. I dropped out of high school in the 10th grade. I spent years working, being in relationships, partying, etc. There came a point when I was no longer satisfied with my life. When I was 25 I decided to go back to school. I completed high school in 3 months through correspondence, applied to university, and was accepted. I am now 30 and have a B.Sc in Human Biology and a minor in sociology. I applied to medical school and was accepted. The point of my story is that it is never too late to accomplish your dreams. The path I took in life gave me a wealth of life experience and wisdom, and made me the man I am today. Earlier in life I was not ready to attend post secondary education but now I am completely prepared and have learned how to manage stress much more effectively than when I was 17. In turn, I will be much more successful at med school today then I would have back then. So do what is best for you. Don't pay attention to what others have accomplished. There are many socioeconomic factors, and many other reasons that lead some people to succeed in life earlier than others, including luck. Don't beat yourself up. Be true to yourself and everything will work out. JD
