A habit is a daily thing. Like getting up & having lunch at the same time etc. But an Obsession is some thing you go out of your way to do, like Roller Coaster rides.

A habit is what a nun wears, an obsession is trying to find out what's underneath it

A habit is something we can control and stop if we so wish. An obsession is something that takes over our thinking and with it our lives. It becomes the most important thing for us to do, to the extent that we neglect all else, including our partners. An obsession is the uncontrollable urge to do something, no matter the cost or effect on others.

A habit is something that you physically do or think to do.An obsession can be something that you never actually do but think about. You can be obsessed with men (or women) and never actually do anything about it.You can be obsessed with a celebrity and never meet them,or follow up on their lives. You just think about them a lot. There`s many obsessions that never get put into action.A habit is something that is put into action on a regular basis.A habit is not always bad.The word obsession" is questionable. You can be in love with your husband (a good thing) or you can be totally obsessed with him(not a good thing)

my interpretation of a habit would be if you do something automatically and you know you are doing it. my interpretation of an obsession would be if you are doing something that you simply cant not do, as it would annoy you to just leave it until later. An obsession is an unwelcome, uncontrollable, and persistent idea, thought, image, or emotion that a person cannot help thinking even though it creates significant distress or anxiety

Habit is a disposition or tendency leading us to do easily, naturally, and with growing certainty, what we do often; custom is external, being habitual use or the frequent repetition of the same act. The two operate reciprocally on each other. The custom of giving produces a habit of liberality; habits of devotion promote the custom of going to church. Custom also supposes an act of the will, selecting given modes of procedure; habit is a law of our being, a kind of ``second nature'' which grows up within us. Obsession is the state of being besieged; -- used specifically of a person beset by a spirit from without.

I would say that a habit is something that you do subconsciously, you don't realise you are doing it after a certain period of time. Like biting your nails, cracking your knuckles, etc.. whereas an obsession is something that you constantly think about doing, like homework :P, or like playing games, or music or something

k, already answered but I would say, scientifically, a habbit involves more of INvoluntary actions, (relfex actions in neurology), while obsession in voluntary.
