'Sociolgical theory' covers the range of different frameworks or perspectives that infuence: -the concepts -the research focus -the ways of interpeting and researching the social world Sociological method covers the range of different ways of researching social life, social insitutions, inequality and interractiion. The choice of sociological method is often influenced by the theory or perspective that the researcher takes. nb In both cases it is more useful to talk of Theories and Methods - to use the plural rather than the singular - as Sociology has no settled dominant theory or method
