Why can't society live without computers?

    Because there's no need to. That's like asking why society can't live without proper hygiene. Or cars. Or manufactured clothing. Society is constantly evolving it's technology. If we're capable of creating it, then why WOULDN'T we use it?

Computers have become another tool for us, and in our current society, a needed tool. Think of how much we still use hammers and knives; tools invented and used by early man, or even the wheel. What would it be like to live without those!? This is just another step in the evolution of society. It is still very possible to live without computers anywhere in the world. However, the longer they are around the more difficult it will be to do so.

Good question. We have lived without them right up until the twentieth century and I would have preferred it, if it had stayed that way. They are more trouble than they are worth. Mine has crashed three times today and I am ready to put my fist through the monitor!!

That is not an accurate statement. Who says society can't live without computers? Society lived just fine before computers were invented. A computer is NOT a necessity for sustaining life!
