Why American Media are so Deceiving?I mean why do they fool the "poor" citizens?

  • Ok first of all i have many American friends, even in this forum,i have date American women before and i have nothing against Americans but DARN some things that going on in USA are very deceiving! Let me explain,i live in Greece Europe and i have also spend years of living in France and Italy,i know in all countries Media are lying but nothing like the American Media! Nobody says in Greece or Italy or France, that everyone is jealous of them, everyone want to come and live in there ,even though all these countries rank higher in tourism than US i think and according to International statistics, they have a better quality of life and more happy citizens!(i am sure about that) I mean some small examples 1)Sports Illustrated Magazine names 100 greatest athletes of the century IN THE WORLD (LOL) ,when they include 97 American athletes that 80% of them are unknown outside the US! 2)People magazine, tried to convince us last year that Michelle Obama is the prettiest woman alive with Oprah being second,i do not need to add anything more on this one i think,no comment! 3)Forbes Magazine for a fact does not mention half and even more of International Billionaires,i mean let me mention something i know for a fact, they include 1 Greek billionaire, when there are 8 for a fact! 4)USA Today named 50 greatest Olympians in THE WORLD (LOL) and 41 were Americans, when in top 50 multiple Olympic medalists only 9 are Americans! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_multiple_Olympic_gold_medalists I mean why they do that? This is CLEAR disrespect to other nations and cultures,it's shameful,i mean you wanna make a poll ?I understand,do it but AT LEAST SAY IN THE USA NOT THE WORLD! Any thoughts?

  • Answer:

They do it for one reason & one reason alone......$$$$$$$! It's all about the marketing & advertising that many of these magazines & publications have a financial interest in...either as an owner, agent, or stockholder of the ads that grace the inner pages & most Americans aren't even aware that they are being brainwashed into thinking that they "need" to spend money on this high priced junk that is keeping them poor & making the corporate giants even bigger & more powerful with each dollar that the consumer spends on advertised products! The American people are kept in a small pond by much of the media in hopes that we will keep up our impulse buying habits. We often must settle for less due to cost & budgetary restraints. I fear this is a big part of forcing us into the new world order of having only 2 classes of people...The rich & the poor. One group isn't going to have to budge until the other group ceases to give them support. The poor are being forced to shop at big box budget stores like walmart because the small mom & pop shops are disappearing daily. We are being corralled like farm animals & there really isn't much we can do to stop it.

I know what you mean Knight. The American media won't accept that "Elvis " is dead (he keeps popping up in some burger joint all over America ) so what chance has sport of a fair reckoning.I think that you must react to their partisanship in the John McEnroe way "YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS"

The U.S.A. isn't the world, but as far as things go, it's pretty much the dominate force on the planet. It's media is actually a weapon, it is used to manipulate large groups of people, and it pretty much serves the few ultra rich who own it. Much like the E.U. uses economic clout to gain political leverage around the world, the U.S.A. does the same, and the media is one way they do it, call it advertising or public relations, they tend to use a lot of creative literary license to sway opinion their way. Major issues like public health care are a disgrace in the U.S. Europe, and even Canada are way ahead of the U.S. in that category the U.S. is far from perfect. American society is in many ways as exploitative and ruthless as any other. But for the most part the U.S. has more and better of what ever it is your looking for than just about anyone else anywhere on the planet, it really is the land of plenty. American media is no more "deceiving" or self serving as any other countries, media, American media is simply better than most. I prefer Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue to People any day when it comes to beautiful women, but in the U.S.A. we have a huge amount of magazines to choose from and we each have our own opinion as to what a beautiful woman is. Each magazine has it's own distinct personality, and each person in the U.S.A. can choose to read what ever they want to, and in truth they can believe what ever they choose to as well, even it what they believe in is simply not true or valid. In the U.S.A. we allow people to believe what ever they want to.
