Would it be unusual to double-major in Psychology & Sociology?

What's better suited to psychology: sociology or maths?

  • Hi, I'm doing my A Levels next year and am a bit stuck. I have decided I definitely want a role in Psychology in the future. I was going to pick Psychology, Maths, English and Law at A Level. However since talking to my teacher I am stuck on whether to change Maths to Sociology. She said Sociology is better suited than Maths to Psychology although Maths does fit in on the statistics side. I've checked at university requirements, but am still not really sure. So what's better suited to Psychology at A Level: Sociology or Maths(statistics)? Really appreciate any help, as this is really important to me. Thanks.

  • Answer:

Sociology is better suited! Many teachers told me to 'top up' my Psychology with Sociology. I do AS Psychology. More than half of the class does Sociology as well. Some do Maths too. Maybe you can consider dropping one of the other subjects and do both Maths and Sociology. Considering you want to work in Psychology, why not drop Law? Is it CIE A-Level? Cause there is no English AL in CIE. Only AS!
