Would it be unusual to double-major in Psychology & Sociology?

Masters in Psychology after getting a degree in sociology? possible?

  • I am in my final year at university in India. For subject registration i have to choose either Sociology or Psychology as my majors , however the number of seats reserved for psychology for the college i am studying in is at 48 seats (only 48 people can get in ; i know , India sucks that way) , my chances of doing my degree in Psychology are 50/50 however i can readily get Sociology (which has no reservations) since its my second preference. I have more affinity towards Psychology , however my chances of getting the subject are up on the fence. So my question is , if by any chance i do my degree in Sociology can i do my masters/post-graduation in Psychology ( and its components) afterwards? Hope my question wasn't vague Thanks in advance

  • Answer:

As far as I know, yes, you can. You will just have to inquire about any additional prerequisite coursework required for the master's program that you intend to apply to (if any).
