Yahoo!Answers is so disorganized, how do I find the answers to my questions, since I am horrible at questions?

Amazing I used up exactly 100 characters in my question:D I have many interests, but they are not in line with mainstream psychology. I can't ask how do I influence a person. Nobody will give me a true answer, they will only tell me to look where I have already looked. I can't ask for a discussion on a subject, because the best discussions will be among a true circle of individuals. Asking how to be a better person will get me some short one or two line response. Nobody is going to put much effort into such acommon question. Common sense questions, that have an indiscreet goal are going to be viewed as "confusion" on my part. This will only get me insults. After one day of insults only, I have come to believe the best way to get an answer to my questions is to ask the same question repeatedly. I can write an indepth question, and get only one or two incomplete answers. I want to write a 5000 word essay using the advice from Y!A, but I can't. Help me please.

If you click on "my Q&A" after clicking on your yahoo ID hyperlink, you will see links to everything you have ever asked and the answers people gave, and everything you have ever answered. Some people will insult you, and others will have valuable insight. Take the insults with a grain of salt. Those who insult others are projecting their own self-ridicule or self-doubt. If you are not getting thoughtful answers, try rephrasing your questions and asking them again, or choosing to file them in a different catagory, like philosophy, or physics, or something more intelligent and thoughtful people will be interested in. How to influence a person? Look for their hot buttons. For example, their need to feel important and relavent. Cater to their hot buttons with specific compliments or ask for advice and insight. Cater to their need to feel admired by complimenting them on their taste and judgement. Cater to their need to feel desired by acknowledging their attributes. Read books by dale Carnegie like "How to Win Friends and Influence People". The best discussions are through IM and emails. Answers is mostly a forum for hit-and-run comments, not really for those who care about feedback. People just like to get stuff off their chest sometimes.. How to be a better person? Show your empathy. Try to understand other peoples' position, and accept it. Share your redeeming qualities with others. Give your time, attention, and positive regard to others. Take the high road, and never cave in to spite or malice. We all feel it sometimes (it makes us fel better) but you don't have to act on it. Commom sense questions? Not everyone sees it that way, Have you ever seen a question like :"he beats me, should I leave him?" DUH (to me and you). It seems like 90% of the questions people ask, they already know the answer to and don't trust themselves, or have not bothered to research on their own. You can learn about how some people think (specifically) by clicking on their "Q&A" after clicking on their yahoo screen name. You don't always have to wade through all of the useless, thoughtless Q&A to find thoughtful people to communicate with. Does this help?

Try joining a pyschology group through http://groups.yahoo.com You'd likely have a better time getting serious and in depth replies to your in depth questions since most groups require membership and are moderated. It's easy and free to use and the information found in some of the groups can be really helpful! Plus, answers can be emailed to you in a "daily digest" which will include all new postings and replies or as people post/reply. Check it out! :-)

Congrats on the 100 letter thing! DO NOT repeat postings, as this could get you reported! Depending on how you word your questions and the amount & type of users, at the time of posting, is a BIG influence on the answers you will get! Just keep trying and just so you know...You will be seeking answers for as long as you live! And I believe that some of the best answers will come from within yourself! Keep an open mind! Listen to yourself! Could I be so bold as to suggest this avatar? http://www.historyteacher.net/images/Confucius_Saying.gif
