Is there a way to block away pain?

  • I suffer alot from other people trying to hurt my feelings everyday and I go home everyday depressed or irritated by people. I would get all my accumulated pain out by crying almost everyday if I have time when I go to sleep.Sometimes, I'll forget to cry the day before and suddenly break a tear in the class when I can't hold it in. My problems are also worse than it actually is because I tend to try to cover up and prevent my emotions from emerging on my face so that other people would know. So, is there a way to block away pain like a shield? I have tried not caring about people and make myself into thinking they are nothing and not worth talking to. But, it doesn't work. What can I force myself into thinking to prevent these things from bothering me? Please help! its not only depressing but, also embarrassing.

    I dont think blocking pain is the answer. You can certainly build a tolerance to people and their petty mean attitudes. But, I think you need a release. This can come in many forms, for example exercise. Its also important to note that physical activity causes the release of endorphines which are a natural hormone that make people feel happy. Also it may sound intimidating but therapy can be very helpful in working through issues. It gives you the outlet of an impartial audience who is there to listen and help you work through your own issues with out feeling judged.
