Can anyone explain this dream to me?

Can anyone explain this weird dream?

  • Last night I had i really strange dream. In my dream I was holdin' some pens in my right hand and was trying to tatoo the back of my left palm. I was tearing away my skin and really hurting myself until I finally got the tatoo (i'm not sure it was a tatoo, more of a drawing) I wanted. Anyway, i woke up and the back of my palm was hurting real badly. i mean, i could feel the pain i had in my dream very clearly, i could even feel the lines where in the dream i went deeper in my flesh with the pens. Strange thing is that my hand was ok. I had no previous scratches or anything that could explain the dream and pain...after a while it decreased and i went back to sleep..when i woke up the next time my hand was ok,the pain and everything went away. i wanna' know what happened

    Okay Dexter, your dream could mean many things:- 1.You could have seen someone doing something similar in the day, or sometimes dreams are just jumbles and jumbles of weird things. 2.Try to remember what the tattoo looked like, your feelings or expressions as you were drawing it. 3.Your dream shows that you were self-inflicting pain. Were you feeling down or depressed lately? 4.You woke up and you were feeling the pain. This could be because your hand was pressed in some way or another under your back, ect. When your body feels pain, that pain is quite likely to be shown as a dream. 5.Also, dreams are just dreams. Don't give any significance to them as i've seen worse dreams. Don't feel worried, this is very normal. Your dream will not effect you in any way! Good Luck! Hope I helped!

it sounds like you must have been doing something painful with your hand and your mind was trying to tell you to stop it by it coming into your dream..like when your mum is waking you up in the morning and in your dream you hear someone shouting. you might have been lying on your hand/scratching it? or it might have been on something hot or sharp for a short period of time?

You made a connection between the pain you felt while asleep (prob from sleeping on your hand); and some metaphorical pain you feel in real life. To understand what the pain is you feel in real-life- what you long to be able to do, you need to clear your mind and ask yourself: what does a tattoo mean? It could be a longing to belong. You probably were having a real horrid nightmare! Did something happened that same day?!You either were dreaming or you were having some type of premonition...that you wanted a tatoo! It's like when you dream something and you feel like you're really there! But instead you were just feeling the pain from you're dream..and from you're hand.I bet you were inside that real life dream! I know cuz It always happen to me.

2 things, firstly, when your mind tells you a story (when you dream) it tricks your whole body, so even if your hand was ok, your brain would still be 'dreaming' as such, so it would still be making you feel as you did in the dream - your body actually experiences dreams, just as you might do when you have one. for example when someone sleep walks, their body actually makes them physically involved in the dream. for me, if i see someone on television, for example, with a gaping wound in their hand, my hand sometimes hurts - just from the thought of it. secondly, waking up and having a sore hand may have been apart of your dream, but sometimes, after having had dreams and thinking we have woken during the night, we cannot decipher fact from fiction - or real from unreal.
