  For post-grad degrees, most universities do not offer scholarships unless you go to a private small university - but I don't know of any university, personally, that offers scholarships for post-grad study. What they DO offer are assistantships - you work for the department in which you study in some fashion in exchange for tuition reduction (typically 1/3) and a stipend. The stipend will usually cover the tuition fees and you have a little extra - it might be enough to live on, it might not. It just depends on how much you're offered. The work you do depends on your skills and what the department needs - you might end up teaching an undergraduate course, working in the office, being a TA, and related. It's a year-long contract that has the option of being renewed for next school year, depending upon how well you served the department. Though you are a grad student, you are considered part of the faculty, but your bosses are the professors who run the department. You can only find out if assistantships are available by contacting the universities you are interested in - that means you need to do the research.
