How do you have lucid dreams?
-
I've done light research on how to have lucid dreams, but the most easy one I've found was tell yourself each night before you go to sleep that you WILL have one. I've been doing that for a couple weeks now, but sadly, I'm still not having any lucid dreams. I know some people are able to have lucid dreams and some aren't able too, but I had about two short lucid dreams before, so I think I'm capable of having them. But after those 2 dreams, I've never had any other lucid dreams again, and I'd love to have more. Does anyone know any other simple and effective ways on how to have lucid dreams? Thanks.

Answer:
What's worked best for me and for many others has been the Wake-Back-to-Bed or WBTB method. It's where you sleep for 4-6 hours, wake up, then go back to bed after 15-30 min. This puts you going to sleep closer to the time you're to be dreaming- where you are more aware and not so dead asleep. I usually have several dreams during this time, and they are clearer also. Here is a few more things you can do to help yourself become lucid: 1. keep a dream journal 2. do frequent reality checks 3. stay away from drugs and alcohol 4. relax 5. keep telling yourself like you do that you WILL have one and 6. have an open mind-remember some people don't believe lucid dreaming is even possible I don't know if everyone can ld, but you know you can. Have a great time doing whatever you want! =) BTW, there's several websites that are helpful: ld4all.com <my favorite of all dreamviews.com lucidity.com

Ouuhh I did a speech about this. You have lucid dreams by 1st you have to know you are dreaming 2nd You have to start thinking about somsething you want to happen in your dream. 3rd try as much as you can with out waking your self up! Basically you just realize your dreaming then try to make things happen by thinking of thrm alot.

I have found, quite by accident I might add, that if I've had sweets during the day, such as a cold drink or candy bar or cake, especially close to bed time, that the reduction of my blood sugar level which occurs during the night, especially as it crosses whatever "critical" level your particular body defines as "critical", will cause lucid dreams. They're not always happy dreams, and I wonder if the loss in blood sugar causes them to be unhappy dreams, but they are lucid. I hate to recommend this process, and let it be clear here that I'M NOT recommending you do this, because it smacks of chemical abuse and "mind altering drugs" which, although it's just "refined sugar", is causing an alteration in your brainwave pattern during the night, and I don't know what problems you may have with blood sugar levels at present. I'm just answering your question since you asked it and I have had a relevant experience enough times to identify the contributing factor. Also, I am attentive to such matters since I am a retired mental health professional with 20+ years managing my own outpatient clinic(s). And I don't recommend any "playing around with" chemicals for mind altering purposes. It is very dangerous, even if it's simply refined sugar. God Bless you.
I followed the below article back in 1987 and it worked, but also drinking a cup of coffee or two before bed (on a non-work night?) helps. http://www.textfiles.com/occult/luciddrm.txt Also, try this book? http://www.astralgia.com/books/luciddreams.html
Life after 45
I have to say I dream 7 days a week, 365 days a year! I love to dream and I think that is what provokes my imaginative mind to wonder. I enjoy my dreams. Some are scary and I think they are very realistic, others are obviously not real. I usually dream 2 a night. I will wake from one and go into another and sometimes I will go back into the same dream. This means, usually, you are a creative;imaginative person.

Really wear yourself out during the day. Do alot of stuff. Get outside, breath the air. Then give yourself at least 6-7 hours of sleep.
