Why hasn't the government come up with a plan to reduce America's trillion dollar debt?

Is it unreasonable for a 22 year old to see that if the government would spend less, maybe the president should work for free since we buy all the food he eats the fuel for where ever his jets and cars take him, all his bills while he stays in the white house and everyone in Congress make minimum wage. Instead of having free money for lazy people I think it is called TANF they should be required to go to trade school or college to increase their earning power instead of mooch off of tax payers. If you are to stupid to work or go to to school then we are to stupid to help you (that is how it should be.) And about continuing to have children you can't afford if you are on Medicaid for your third pregnancy maybe they should mandate that you have to have your tubes tied so that you won't have the additional expense of more children because you can't afford the birth control or are to stupid to remember to take it. If they cut off food stamps people could still go to food pantries to get help with groceries. And if you wanted to cut off Medicaid all the states would only have to open up some free clinics first come first served or appointments only their choice. Disability for those that actually can't can't work and believe me many people can work I know because being depressed I can make myself get up and ready for work because I have 2 kids to support and one on the way. And yes I plan to have my tubes tied after this one because even going to school to become a medical assistant I want to go back and become a RN. There is nothing wrong with continuing your education even after you have kids. I think all these land marks they keep passing bills to build need to cease. Money should be used to repair road ways, pay for education. People that refuse to educate themselves deserve to live poorly because there are jobs out their if you look. There are night jobs evening jobs, day jobs, part time jobs, temp jobs, or you could even open up your own buisness. The government needs to stop spending money else where and start spending it here in America. Pull all our troops home from all around the world. Train them to be even better. Guard our borders and set up permante borders. Increase our children's education buy only american made goods to promote growth of the american ecomony People this is common sense why hasn't the government figured it out yet?

Answer:
Basically all the sub prime mortgage lenders have gone bankrupt like Freddy Mack and Fanny Mae. This has placed an enormous strain on the financial sector and sent the banks broke also. Now they need a $700 Billion bail out or ppl wont be able to borrow from anywhere sending our economy into further crisis. The bail out has been approved by both houses of Congress. This money will be injected back into the financial sector to help cash strapped banks lend money to businesses and consumers to conduct daily business. This could take some time to correct itself.

it is very very simple...... when a politician campaigns, it is hard for them stand infront of a crowd and tell them, that the economy doing very bad and they have to work harder and recieve less. the relationship between politicians and voters is the same as the relationship between grand parents and grand children and what we really need are politicians to treat voters like their children and make them do things that they don't want to do because it is good for us, regardless if it is hard and we don't like it.

because common sense and government don't mix. Honestly, I think they are not educated enough about economical issues do by able to do anything about it. also they are very, very paid off by lobbyists. That make them immune to any financial crisis, including our national debt. Basically, they are grossly overpaid and they don't care

Wow I guess in the economic turmoil you cannot afford paragraph breaks.

Every person now owes $32,000.00 to the federal government. When Bush took office we had a surplus. Reaganomics is what got us here. Giving a tax break for the rich, meant that the federal government taxes the middle class. Large corporations like Exxon that made 604 billion dollars last year had a tax break. McCain is going to do the same economics as Bush-so don't be fooled. And the word taxes only means that we have to pay back this debt that Bush built. all those stimulus checks all those little checks we got had an interest rate unforeseeable. "Check Please!"

bureaucracy promotes and rewards waste. that is a fact. reduce bureaucracy and you will reduce waste. the fact of the matter is that they do have a plan, they intend to inflate the debt away.
