How to make a windmill to produce electricity?

Why the hell are governments/car makers choosing electricity over ethanol for the future?

  • Ethanol - we can convert our current cars to run on it, if they already dont - For petrolheads, we can still have V8s, V12s etc and they will still make the same sound - Again for petrolheads, you can modify ethanol engines, unlike battery powered ones - Filling up with ethanol is a million times quicker than charging - Ethanol engines don't have to be replaced every 5 or so years like batteries - Ethanol engines obviously have a much higher range - Ethanol engines are lighter - Ethanol engines produce no greenhouse gasses. - Also for petrolheads, ethanol engines have gears, revs, torque/power curves - Ethanol engines produce even more power than petrol - As far as i know, we have no problem producing ethanol, whereas electricity is mostly generated using fossil fuels, so powering with electricity serves no benefit over petrol/diesel Electricity - Electricity produces no greenhouse gasses - Electricity is silent (for businessmen in their Mercedes etc) - Electricity's power is constant I don't know about you, but i see far more better benefits with ethanol than electricity, so why on earth is electricity being marketed whereas most people don't know ethanol can be used to power a car?

    1. If you can honestly say: "As far as i know, we have no problem producing ethanol" then you are woefully ignorant. The alternative is that you are lying. Which is it? http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2006-07-10-ethanol-study_x.htm http://www.smartmoney.com/invest/markets/there-are-big-problems-with-ethanol-namely-corn-supply-20909/ 2. If you think, "Ethanol engines produce no greenhouse gasses" then you need to learn some chemistry. Ethanol has the chemical formula C2H5OH http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol The means that when it burns it produces less CO2 than gasoline (octane is C8H18) but much more than natural gas (mostly CH4) (It is primarily the carbon/hydrogen ratio that determines the amount of CO2 per unit energy.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol_fuel_in_the_United_States#Environmental_and_social_impacts You are correct that electricity is NOT a good answer for all future vehicles - it doesn't work for trucks, long distances, trains, ships, etc. But it is a reasonable answer for commuting, which is what most people use their cars for most of the time. And electricity can be produced from sun, wind, etc. which really don't emit greenhouse gases. If we ever find a way to grow algae in the open ocean and turn that into ethanol and/or biodiesel efficiently, then ethanol will be an answer. But that isn't even close to being feasible now. And growing algae in tanks is just too expensive: http://www.oilgae.com/algae/pro/eth/eth.html

Goverment leaders are stupid people. They were brought up in rich families, and such. They dont really care about the wellbeing of their country as SUCH, they just want power. Goverments are retards, and dont know whats best for the globe, like when USA rejected the Co2 emission reductions, and with Chinas high Co2 emissions in general. Never expect the goverment to do something right XD. I think its because Electricity is a consitent power source though.
