What are the example for enviornmental impact assesment?

Transport plays an important role in the development of country. Please discuss the impact in your own country

  • Defination 1)Giving definition of transport 2) What is the impact of transport globally and to modern economy 3) Include any overseas country as an example Type of transport In Malaysia 1.Road 2.Sea 3.Air 4.Rail 5.Pipelines Briefly explain / give definition of each transport How did it impact our daily business or economy Stength and weaknesses How much improvement did we achieve so far compared 10 years or 20 years ago. Give example. Choose a Specific transport like road and explain . Give a few example of how road give impact over economic growth of Malaysia .Give example of charts flow…….of accidents….anything example related improvement of road. The conclusion to talk about all the transportation in Malaysia . How their impact of current & future development.

In a few days I will be flying to Kuala Lumpur, in order to discuss sea- and air transport within a Global Logistics Network who is giving this service to many customers worldwide. The infrastructure of any country is highly important to develop transportation in an ecological most efficient way. Transport has allowed growth and wealth for many nations. Not for nothing the Romans, the British (the Greeks still today) has an important maritime fleet in order to exchange goods and grow in wealth. Having said this, the world today has relatively cheap transport available compared to 20-30 years ago. This leads to the fact that more and more goods are transported from cheap labor countries to the world of consumers - and sometimes also vice-versa, but until the balance will be reached it will take some time for all the economies involved (but look at how fast Japan has grown in less then 30 years and from cheap export products it is now one of the leading producers of high quality products and instead of importing cars, it is the main car exporter, just to take one example). Transport by itself does never add any value to the goods. (transport can only damage the goods). But the exchange and trade does lead to growth in countries where the necessary infrastructure is available. Malaysia has grown rapidly also thanks to the efficient infrastructure, like terminals at Tanjung Pelepas competing strongly with Singapore as transshipment hub. Transshipment hubs have become highly important, like the growth of dimensions of Airplanes, they allow larger ships to carry the cargo (passengers in Airfreight) over the longer distances at lower costs. Have a look at how the worldwide fleet of container-ships grow year over year by nearly 15%. Many shipping lines have invested in container ships with capacities over 8.000 teus (Twenty foot equivelant units) and ships have grown to capacities of 13.000 teus. These large ships also have some negative impact, since they are far more riskier to invest in and can only be used between a limited number of ports in the world. As long as the major producers and consumers remain in the same region, these ships will run profitable, since the energy cost per unit transported is far lower then the smaller ships. However, should the economy change rapidly, these investments will end like the supertankers that were produced after the first oil crises. In general referring to land transportation, road is far less efficient then rail transport (if the management of the rail is handled by efficient companies). Road transport can do local deliveries, but for any long distance transportation, rail has a higher efficiency level, since it can be planned in advance and it has far less impact on the environment. Your question for the rest is far to specific tailored to the Malaysian market, which I do not know enough of in detail in order to give you the right advice, but I hope to have given you a more general picture of views on transport. PS In the list of ways to transport, you forgot electricity cables and data-transport systems, but I guess this is anyhow out of the field of your particular interest.
