How do you tell the difference between ethical and unethical farms?

Can anyone tell me a list of NON-Factory Farms here in America?

  • I'm not for going vegan, I eat meat like most of you but I don't believe that they should have to be cruelly abused with slow long painful deaths. A proper slaughter should just use a quick and painless alternative. The next time I go grocery shopping I do not wish to support factory farms in any way. Is Garelik Farms on the level? For example do they kill the calves to save the milk? I can't think of any other names at the moment. Just tell me which farms are doing things the right way.

  • Answer:

It's good that you want better care for these animals. And I'm glad you are concerned. However, most of the main meats you find from the supermarkets are from factory farms. There are small farmers in america, but you actually have to look for them around your area. You would also have to consciously be okay with their practices. I'm not okay (anymore) with the slaughtering of animals in general, since I don't need meat or any other animal products to live happily. I wouldn't bat off the idea of not going vegetarian or vegan quite yet. I have had some hesitant omnivores say to me that they would consider going veg after learning more about it. If you want some good vegetarian or vegan websites, message me. :) Otherwise....you are going to have to find local farms in your area.
