How does economic policy/globalization effect poverty and inequality in Brazil?

• I've identified a few sources for a research paper, but I'm struggling with identifying important economic policies that directly result in or effect poverty and inequality. Also, any significant historical/economic events that resulted in high poverty levels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Globalisation means opening of the economy for all.The country's economy get integrated with world economy.A country like Brazil with strong agriculture base may not gain much from globalisation.Most of the countries which had gone and opened the economy suffered in agricultural sector resulting in rural poverty.
