Answer:
Well there our two arguments what you saw the first post is something I agree with and if your going to choose an answer choose number 1 there. Because he's right what the current unemployment does is cause more unemployment the unemployment checks aren't free they have to come from employers who could use that money to actually employ more people. Also employed people create wealth when they earn there paycheck, unemployed people can't. However the democrats argument is that these people spend there money right away and stimulate the economy that way. Of course the problem any stimulation that happens gets sucked right back in.

1. Congress is by far the main single cause of unemployment in the first place. Every time they pass a law that puts costs onto business - and that is Congress's main activity - they cause unemployment. Then they pretend to be the saviour of the unemployed by paying unemployment benefits, the money for which they get by taking from other people. 2. For example suppose the market rate for someone is $350 a week, the minimum wage is $400 a week, and the unemployment benefit is $250. What Congress is doing is *criminalising* gainful employment in which the person would be earning *more* than the dole, at the same time as they deprive businesses of workers, and consumers of products, thus making everyone worse off. Congress is saying "We think it's better for you to live on an income of $250 a week and be idle and depressed and looked down on, than to earn $350 a week in gainful employment, learning skills, and providing things that society wants and needs." 3. What you tax you get less of, and what you subsidise, you get more of. Congress is taxing productive activity that satisfies society's wants and needs, and subsidising poverty. 4. You can't sensible talk about whether something is good for "the economy". There's no thing or person or entity that is "the economy". Policies take from group A and give to group B, that is all.
