Should I immigrate to the USA?
-
Should I immigrate there? I'm Canadian but I don't think I could make as much money in Canada as I can in the USA. It's likely because Canada is socialist and the USA is capitalist. Canada has high taxes, higher cost of living and lower salaries compared to the U.S. Should I immigrate? If I do I figured I would have more money, more wealth. I could buy all the stuff that I've always wanted. When it comes to business, higher taxes impede business growth. Don't you agree? Shouldn't we have less taxes and less government? With less taxes people will have more money to spend. Therefore there would be a stronger economy with a higher GDP. But how hard is it for a Canadian to immigrate to the US? And do you agree that what I say is right?

Answer:
You may want to wait till after the 08 Presidential Election. Why? Because IF Hillary Clinton wins many Americans will probably want to immigrate to Canada. As a Liberal Tax and Spend Democrat, NOW she wants to "Give Away $5,000.00 USD" to every baby born in America REGARDLESS if Bill Gates has twins !!! Whose gonna pay for that?????? We will ... So think twice my friend think three times!

Taxes are not everything. Look at the health system, crime figures etc. Go to New Zealand. The best little country in the world. Check it out. Business growth is not everything, either. More money, more wealth will not make you all that happy. Look at the rich people.. miserable.
we have so many social problems that + plus the war that the low taxes are soon to be a thing from the past.

Wages in the US will depends on your education, occupation, and where you choose to live, so what your income would be depends on your individual circumstances not generalities. The amount you save in taxes may be spent on health insurance, depending on your income and tax rate. I would think that if you are well educated, and/or have high tech skills you would do better in the US, if not you might be better off in Canada, The US has a surplus of unskilled labor so the wages are low.

It is very difficult for a Candian to EMIGRATE to the US, or for an American to EMIGRATE to Canada. Your only real chance would be for a US employer to sponsor you (difficult, because they have to prove you have unique skills and no US worker can be found), or to get a visa to attend college, or to marry a US citizen.

Go for it! No offense I think Canada sucks. Even thou I'm Canadian myself. I would but I'm still young and I am lucky to be who I am. I am native and I can just pop out my tax card for tax redemption. I also do not pay for gas taxes. I also live on a Indian Reserve (Even tho I am not Indian. I am Native-American.) My band gives out housing, clothing, welfare cheques. And the government supplies of family allowance until children reach the age of 18, then cut off. We also do not pay for land taxes, house mortgage. Most or other cultures think we are lazy and low-lifed, no need lifes. Maybe some are but not all. Hmm yeah what I just mentioned there. I'm not gonna live off of that. I am going to get me a job, maybe landscaper. Go for it! Move to the U.S!!!!! I most certainly would move there. I love it there.

You can actually go and live and work in the U.S. Do you need visa a to enter and live in the U.S.A - being a Canadian?? You may like to work there for however long you want to----- but you can go back to Canada when you tire of the U.S. --or retire. (Canada in the long term is said to be a more peaceful place than the U.S!~wouldnt you agree?)

Republicans will agree with you. Democrats might disagree with you. It's up to you. As you said, America is a capitalist country with a tradition of small government and being against increased taxation and socialized government services. If you'd like to make more money, then by all means America is the country for you. Just remember that although you'll be making more money, you're now obligated for funding your own health care (through your employer), paying for your children's university education, and forget any pension whatsoever, (you should start saving for retirement ASAP) It's your decision. I wish you luck with whatever you decide. Peace.
