What will the blooming economy of India promise to the poor?
-
It is true that India is becoming a strong economy power in the world. And as it is projected by BBC, by the year 2020 India will only be second to China economically. The economic growth has been making many Indians millioners and many individual companies as multi-nationals. The result is; only the individuals grow economically without a limit. But in the same land of millioners, there are millions without a meal for a day. The farmers commiting sucide at the loss of the crops and the burden of the loans has become a daily event. The rich and the well educated(affordable only to the rich) get many attractive offres every day but what is offered for the offers is that which belongs to the poor, the agreecultural land. The poor farmers have been the victims of the present growth and especially globalization. If the same trend continues in the years to come, will the poor find a surviving place in "Developed India?" or will there be the poor in "Developed India?"

Answer:
The promise of any growing free market economy is the same - a gradual shift towards the shrinking and consolidation of class divisions, devaluation of class as a practical social marker or obstacle, and improvement of living conditions. For a practical example, see the United States of America. Corruption has been noted as being a practical impediment to a positive outcome - however, the history of the United States is rife with corruption. Eventually, however, there is a tipping point at which point society implements a generally balanced and just rule of law that is essential to any free market (dead, terrorized, or abjectly poor customers generally spend less money at your businesses). That is not to say that corruption cannot win the day - but only that, in the long run (i.e. not 25 or 50 years - but more like 100 or 150), prosperity is better guaranteed by a just, safe society with reasonable legal recourse. Corruption will burn itself out, as long as the society can avoid falling prey to dictatorship.

Why should it promise anyhting? Poverty used to be a reason to succeed. Now its an excuse for failure.

Don't fret. With more prosperity comes more political and economic freedom for all. A by-product of capitalism is a large discrepancy of income. However, a larger and more important by-product is an increase in the number of opportunities to and an increase in the mobility of the poor (in addition to a general improvement in their lifestyles) The United States at one time had a starving poor, but by embracing capitalism and political freedoms, America's poor has access to many things that upper middle class citizens of developing countries do not. The same can be said for many European nations as well. Once capitalism has been embraced, true poverty -(not poverty which is defined by U.S. politicians as simply having alot less than the rich)- but true poverty will decline into an eventual nonexistence.

its a growing economy definitely.bt it has many flaws.there are not many hospitals in the country.people are dying cause of lack of hospitals and facilities.corruption is in the roots of govt machinery.and there is no way it can be curtailed.its everywhere prevalent like an epidemic.officials dnt spend the money on the public services.they fill their own pockets.and by the time crime is detected ten more officials are already being transferred.YES INDIA IS GROWING AT 9% GDP.chidambram is imposing taxes.compliance is increasing.where are the facilities.i think paying taxes in this country is of no use.if we tell the doctor in the hospitals, that we need bed cause we have paid the tax,the doctors and nurses wd throw the patient out in a minute.this is the reality in this country.pathetic india is growing my friends, cause more fashion shows are being held and more nithari killings are being discovered.and more women are being raped everyday.a woman in nagpur sufffered a rod in her vagina by sme SICK minds, such people shd be amputated and left in open for suffering.INDIA IS GROWING FRIENDS. this is just tip of an iceberg

various governments are doing what they should be. Afterall we do have various government programs at work inlcluding education, employment schemes , mid day meal, Free education, reservation etc. But population growth is the main culprit. Otherwise a poor indian wont exist. government which has increased its tax revenues in the last few years is expected to spend on its vote bank and also keep inflation under control [inflation is the highest form of taxation, especailly affecting the poor]. Having generated so much of surplus, businesses should also do their bit for society which they are probable doing. Jobs have also been created with a vengence and reportedly there would no poverty in india in the next twenty years [i dont know how they define it]. flood gates of foreign investments ave been opened , hopfully it benefits a cross section of society.

Who invented plastic surgery? The Indians. It is fully described by Maharshi Susruta, the ancient Ayurvedic surgeon, in his samhita. Who invented acupuncture? The Indians. Who invented the martial arts? The Indians. Who invented the remote sensing and imaging techniques? The Indians. Who discovered Advanced Astrology? The Indians. Who discovered Advanced Astronomy? The Indians. Who discovered Groundwater Hydrology? The Indians. We can read Brihat Samhita of Varaha Mihira; the Indian method is better than the modern techniques of using space satellites. Who were the first to construct planned cities with high technology infrastructures for water supply and sewerage? The Indians. Who invented the hanging bridges? The Indians. Chinese who visited India a few thousands of years ago wrote about our hanging bridges which used steel beams and steel ropes. Who discovered higher philosophy? The Indians. Were there Doora Sravana and Doora Darsana machines in ancient India? Yes. Did our ancients knew radars and laser weapons? Yes, the techology was given in the Sanskrit manuscript Samarangana Sutra Dhara. Who discovered Irrigation Engineering? Another name for India was Yilaa Varta. The hidden meaning of this name is Jala Maaruta, the country of water laden winds. No other country in the world has monsoons. The rainfall in India is more than the total rainfall in the rest of the world. India is the land of mighty rivers. In the olden days, the water flow rate in the Ganga exceeded that of any other river in the world. The people of South India built and maintained an extensive system of irrigation tanks and associated canals with extraordinary managerial and social skills. They shared the waters following the ways of nature from time immemorial. Construction of small dams at every possible location was carried out with such completeness that a British engineer of the 19th century thought that it would be impossible to add another tank to that irrigation system. It was a marvel of Indian engineering and human cooperation. Nothing like it existed else where in the world at any time in the past. While peasants of other countries broke their backs to reap one harvest, the Indians produced two or three bumper crops a year. The harvest in the Krishna and Kauvery river basins was large enough to meet the needs of rest of our country during periods of crisis. Visitors from Europe and China in pre-Christian times wrote that India was a land of plenty. Our Buddhist and Jain religious records also say the same thing. One professor of Sri Venkateswara University is doing reserch on our ancient manuscripts to provide necessary science to farmers. If many more scientists realize that way, there is no dearth of information in our ancient manuscripts to help those who are termed at present as "poor".
