How much is a silver certificate dollar worth now?

I have a 1957 dollar bill, silver certificate, how much is it worth?

  • one dollar bill, silver certificate, series 1957 B, also a 2 dollar bill, 1976 series

  • Answer:

Depending on the condtion - the Silver Certificate dollar bill might be worth $2. The 1976 two dollar bill is worth - $2. Neither of these bills is as rare as people thing. Folks like me usually get them as change and put them away as sort of keepsakes. Then, when times get tough...like they are now...they take them from their hiding spots and spend them. These days I usually give the Silver Certificates and $2 bills away to kids. Their parents are the ones that usually make them save them. Another item that has no higher value than face value are the bicentenial quarters. I once collected $1,200 worth of those over the years. Then I cashed them in when I realized I wasn't earning interest on those coins merely sitting around. See the link below for some advice on currency collectors' value that I think gives fair general appraisals.
