Which is the best university in the world for archeology?

What should I pair with an archeology major a history or a world location?

  • So basically I want to major in Archeology and either Medieval Studies or Asian Studies (more specifically Japanese) I am wondering which might prove to be more useful being more knowledgeable in a time period or a part of the world?

  • Answer:

How about geology so you can know everything about what's in the ground. you can also specialize in a certain geographic area but geology and mapping is majorly important in archaeology.

well this answer will probably make it more difficult, but both. Especially if you are an archaeology major. You can't exactly go on escapades to dig up whatever area you want. It is important to know the history around what you are digging up. The area is also important, but it doesn't necessarily have to be as limited as Japan. You want to know at least a little about the surrounding areas of the place you are focusing on and then a lot about Japan. Or For medieval studies, you could know about western Europe during the medieval era and then focus on feudal France or England. Both are important, and I see no reason why you would have to sacrifice one for the other.
