What makes you interested in a job?

What do Cultural & Psychological Anthropologists do? What makes you passionate about your job?

• Right now I'm majoring in psychology, however I'm very interested in different cultures and am thus considering looking into anthropology for graduate schools. I really don't know much outside of the brief things I have read online, though. Could someone explain to me a bit more what cultural anthropologists do, as well as psychological anthropologists? I assume I would want to pursue one of these areas. Also...kind of random...but what about anthropology makes you passionate? I have yet to find something I feel passionate about, which is why I am looking at so many different things. I want to make a difference, somehow, in life (people's individually or whatever) but don't want to get bored with whatever I go into. I want to feel like what I do is meaningful and fulfilling...does this occur for any of you?

  Anthropology is divided into different fields as you have already pointed out. What different anthropologist does depends on the interest of each anthropologist. Cultural anthropology was formed by Franz Boas he was born in Germany, but moved to the states. Jobs for a cultural anthropologist can include: Teaching,integration,aid working in a library and not to forget write books and articles. There are many different jobs, but many ends up working with something else than anthropology This is due to the lack of relevant work. It is worth mentioning that the longer you study the more jobs you can apply on. If people want to work at a university they almost are guaranteed to be a PH.D or a PH.D student. Your field of interest: The psychology within anthropology works with: Mindsets,religion and more. Please note that each anthropologist evolve their field of passion based on fieldwork. So what makes an anthropologist passionate? The answer is different for everyone. For some it may be the difference in culture,symbols or health. .
