How many protected areas in the world?

Why didnt the Nordic, Slavic tribes settle in warmer more protected areas of the world..such as in sub-Africa?

  • Answer:

They didn't have google earth, so they didn't know what was there. Humans evolved from somewhere in northeast Africa. When they spread out from there, they probably did so following food (that means animals, which move, and sometimes live in Europe). Also, some humans DID go to sub-Saharan Africa. And populated it. So other humans would probably have gone "oh look, other people live here and there isn't space for all of us, we might go somewhere less crowded".

Probably the people who were already living in Africa and other warm places wouldn't let the Norsemen and the Slavs have any of their land. Africa was populated a long time before Europe and northern Asia were.
