  In animals, you will find a more pronounced snout(nose) large canines, marked differences in size of canines between males and female skulls, cranial capacity ( how big the brain was) usually smaller, the shape of the dental palate is more v-shaped and the eye sockets will not always be forward looking in animals. Humans have smaller canines , forward facing eye orbits a u-shaped dental palate, multi -purpose teeth like molars for grinding, a reduced snout, less size difference in male and female canines.The cranial capacity is larger and the skull is rounder.
