  1) First 'Astronomy' the king of sciences then. You will find that even their nomenclature (Signs of Zodiac) is similar. Contrast this with the Chinese view of the sky and their nomenclature. 2) It is difficult to say with Arabs intervening through which medium much of the knowledge was exchanged. It can be a major study activity (contributions of each) debunking many of contemporary theories going back to the origins like Copernican Heliocentric theory. Nevertheless, modern Astronomy can be said to have started with Kepler. Same is the case, with concepts in 'Mathematics'. In this India laid the foundation with position-based (decimal) numbers using zero; while Romans even into second century were struggling with the Roman numbers, unable to do serious mathematics.
