International Studies help?

Help in deciding a major..? International Studies vs Anthropology?

• first can you give me the major differences? im currently majoring in international studies- global cultural studies, but im considering a switch to anthropology. Can you tell me possible career paths for each? thanks so much in advance

  I was an anthropology major so I can expand on that. Anthropology departments are usually rather varied and you have the option of focusing in a variety of areas: Cultural Anthropology and Ethnography (study of cultures, folklore, social structures, medicine etc) Linguistics (Study of Languages and language patterns) Physical Anthropology (Study of human remains, evolution, and primates) Archaeology (Study of past civilizations through an examination of artifacts) Right after college, I was able to quickly get a job in Archaeology doing 'cultural resource management' survey work because I had a BA in Anthropology and I had taken a Field school. If you want to be an 'Anthropologist' at a university, then most people expect you to pursue a PhD. Another option is using your ethnographic skills (because it's assumed you will understand a diversity of people) to be a consultant for businesses such as advertising, or for non-profit organizations. Another pursuit is being a Social Studies teacher in middle/high schools. Overall, it's also a good undergraduate degree if you are sure that you want to go to graduate school, but just don't know what for. My understanding of international studies is that it is interdisciplinary and relates specifically to government, political science! I don't have experience there, so i'll leave that to a more qualified person.
