Kindergarten activity ideas, please? I am on an internship?

Activities with mentally and physically disabled people?

• If you'd be so kind and advise me on some activities for mentally and physically disabled (handicapped) people. I have this new subject (internship) at my university where we work with severely handicapped people - i.e. cannot speak, cannot use their hands properly, cannot walk (some can move around, or crawl) and are usually sitting in a wheelchair. We have done some activities already, like putting them on an air pillow or seesaw and swinging them gently, or hitting a swinging ball, etc. (I think you might get the idea). Could you please help me with an activity and a full description? It's very important for me to come up with some good and enriching ideas, not for my lesson, but mainly for those 'poor' people. It's priceless to see a smile on their faces, makes our everyday problems kinda ridiculous... Well thank you in advance :)

  Hello! I don't know where you live so this might not work. But I live in a semi rual area, and I train horses. In college I'm taking several horse breaking classes and our teacher made us come up with a community service project with our horses. We brought in disabled people and it was magic! I was also surprised at how many people were willing to donate their time and animals and how many centers there actually is specifically geared toward this kind of thing. It takes a lot of people to ensure proper balance but it worked out great. As a general rule, they seem to do great with ANY kind of animals. But this might be kind of hard if you are required to stay at the university and such.
