How impractical is a major in anthropology?

What is a Anthropology? How would taking this major help me.?

• So i am researching majors, and this one came across. I checked some websites but i still do not have a clear understanding on what exactly this major is about, and what job opportunities come with it. Does anyone know & can help me out?

  Anthropology is the study of humans and their closest living relatives: bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans. There are two fundamental types of Anthropology: Biological/Zoological Anthropology which covers ape evolution and anatomy, and Sociological/Cultural Anthropology which covers culture, language and religion amongst humans as well as Archaeolgy and hominid (humans and other apes) behavior. This would help you better understand our species as a whole. Plus gives you a better understanding of our closest relatives, as well as a better understanding of yourself.
