  Very few jobs are available as an forensic anthropologist. Nearly all forensic anthropologists work full-time as regular academic or professional anthropologists, and occasionally do some contract work for law enforcement or other government bodies. So really, the job you'd be looking at is "physical anthropologist", probably doing teaching and research at a university for 52 weeks a year, and you'd occasionally get asked to come and help with some investigation. So the first requirement is that you'll need to *love* anthropology, because that's what you're doing most of the time. If you're more interested in the forensic aspect and aren't so fussed about the anthropology aspect, you might be better off looking at courses in forensic science or criminal justice. To work as a professional anthropologist, the minimum academic qualification is a PhD in anthropology. So you'd be looking at around 7 to 8 years university - 4 years for a Bachelors degree, followed by 3 or 4 years doing a PhD.
