The only thing an animal wants to do is either eat or have sex. A human's desires are far more altruistic (well, most of us)

we are animals...were not plants or inanimate objects or bacteria or fungus..we are animals. the difference between a lot of mammels and some of the higher apes is we have opposable thumbs and at some point developed language they are the only two real differences i can think of and most other things stem from those differences.. or are a part of them. like culture transmitting information between members of a species using tools etc. but it is a very big difference... a bit like the difference between a dog and a lizard yes the same basic motives and drives are there but the dog has developed a fore brain to deal with other members and form packs and have some language skills although not abstract.. so although dogs and lizrads are very much both animals there is a larger difference obviously species but i think the difference with humans is fairly unique in that there are not other species using tools and language so we feel very special.

All that you say is true &, contrary to one responder's answer, animals do have free will... as any dog owner will tell you. The main differance is the inability to conduct detailed conversations with humans and express their fears, needs & wants in terms that humans understand.

Whereas Animals simply survive in their environment, Humans have developed technology & science to change their environment.

If you are alive then you are either a plant or an animal. That is a basic scientific fact that cannot be disputed. As humans are not plants and are alive then we are forced to conclude that humans are animals. Basic logic.

Of course, humans *are* animals. Over 95% of the D.N.A. of a chimpanzee is identical to that of a human being. I hope that your not someone who denies evolution. That would be really unfortunate.

Well, Izzak, don't take a pig a'courtin' in the forrest, or you'll soon find out (unless you're a hill-billy, of course!).
