International Relations or Cultural Anthropology?

What can I do with a BA degree in Anthropology?

• I was just wondering if anyone with a degree in anthropology can shed some light on this. I also read somewhere that anthropologists can be found in the business world doing Public Relations and Advertising. I'm more interested in these two fields as opposed to archaeology etc. Would it be considered cultural anthropology that would lean towards PR and advertising? My current university does not offer PR or advertising. Thanks in advance.

  A BA in Anthropology probably would probably have about the same direct effect on your career that a Philosophy or Sociology degree would. With some work experience you would probably be more employable in higher paid, but non-professional jobs in more than one sector. However if you fancy yourself a savant in anthropology, you could, depending on your grade, move on to an MPhil after your undergraduate degree and get your doctorate, after which you could become... *drumroll* ..an anthropologist. :-p On the other hand if you are determined to get into PR and Advertising, there are a lot of universities out there that do Public Relations degrees. I suppose it helps to have a long-term goal.
