What is the difference between social theory and sociological theory?

What is the difference between features of a theory or principles of a theory?

  • what is the difference between features of a theory or principles of a theory?

  • Answer:

Relative importance. Priciples of a theory are the core points a theory is based upon. Features are useful or interesting consequences surrounding it. If you remove priciples of a theory, the theory ceases to be. If features of it change, the theory is still sound. To make an analogy, the principles of a new car would be the power of its engine, its fuel efficiency, and any unique characteristics which make it different from any other car-- differences that, if taken away, would make this no longer the same car. Being able to drive itself would be a principle of the new car, because no other car can do that. Having air conditioning and leather seats would be features of the car, because the car would still be revolutionary without air conditioning and leather seats.
