How do I get over stage fright?

How can I get over my stage fright?

  • i have to present a project in my social studies class soon and i have REALLY bad stage fright, even in the classroom. like im fine answering a question and all, but when i have to stand in front of the class with everyone watching me as i present a project makes my face get all red and i get really hot and nothing seems to help. i try to imagine im talking to puppies or that everyones naked but im still so nervous and too busy concentrating on not messing up that i cant concentrate on calming down. how can i get over the stage fright?

  • Answer:

Everyone gets stage fright to some degree even famous peple that have been performing for years. I have been singing for years in front of people and I still get it. The only way to get better at it is to perform in front of people more. The more you do it, the easier it will get and the less nervous you will get.

pretend every body is wearing a funny clown wig because pretending that their all naked is just strange and will probably make you more nervous lol, if that doesn't work then just focus on one of your friends and pretend nobody else is there and that your only performing to one person, that's what i do.

Everyone gets nervous, don't stress. When I think of this, I think of the movie, "Maid in Manhattan", where the boy gets nervous, but the guy tells him his trick, holding onto a paper clip could help! Good luck!

Just as in Classical Music performance, make your main object of focus your performance material, in this case your presentation. Before you go to start your presentation, be focused on what you are going to present and aim to do it as clearly as possible, with the motivation that every single person in the room is going to understand each point, and make the sincere effort to do so. When you are speaking to your audience, project your voice and your subject to the back of the room. Present in a professional and focused fashion, staying strictly to the subject. Do not seek the audience's approval, remain in the role of presenter. Thank your audience for being present at your presentation, at the end. All the best.

I imagine that I'm in my room, all by myself, practicing. I have terrible stage fright as well. I'm a musician. I do much better when I am singing or playing the Cello than when I am trying to give a talk or am doing public speaking. Sometimes I fix my eyes on one place, or I look at my best friend, who gives me support. But as you do it more and more, you get better, trust me!
