What are some easy Red Hot Chili Peppers songs to play on the guitar?

  • I really love the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I can sing most of their songs, though not very well, but I'd like to learn how to play some of their stuff on the guitar too. Just tell me an easy song to play and I'll look up the tabs.

    The first songs I learned to play by them were Mellowship Slinky in B Major and Suck My Kiss, and I Could have Lied and Breaking the Girl are both are pretty easy. Try Under the bridge and My Friends when you get into it a little bit. When it comes to Chili Peppers songs, it's not really the actually notes or chords that are difficult, its getting that syncopated, Hendrix-style rythm that Frusciante (or Navarro, or any of the numerous guitarists) uses when you're playing the old stuff. Most important thing with RHCP is the bounce to all the songs, so listen hard and try to get it down, and you'll be fine.

I listen to Red Hot Chili Peppers BECAUSE their guitar parts are hard to play, so, I'm not really sure that there IS an easy Red Hot Chili Peppers song to play on the guitar. If you want to, try Californication and Give it Away. Those don't sound as hard as Dani California or Under the Bridge.
