How do I begin a career in theatre?

How can I have a career in Musical Theatre?

  • I'm 16 years old and I have got to the point where I really want to have a career in Musical Theatre. I'm a good singer and actor - I've taken and got grades in Singing/Music Theatre from 1-7 and I'm doing Grade 8 this year which is the highest, I've done this with the London College of Music. I've also been with a few Musical theatre schools since I was 9, my current one I've been in since I was 12. I've had roles in productions like: Maggie in a Chorus Line Eponine in Les Miserables Ilse in Spring Awakening Rizzo in Grease I've had smaller parts and been in ensembles many times too etc Dancing is my weakness - I'm "average" you could say, I can dance if I want to but I am having lessons to improve. I can play guitar too - but that's not really relevant to musical theatre For my A Levels I am taking: Media Studies, English Literature and Performing Arts - so if I change my mind about my career have a range of subjects to fall back on. I really want to have a career in Musical Theatre but I don't where to start after I finish my A Levels in 2 years time. Advice please? Louise xxx
