What are some famous trombone pieces?

Are there any 6-part trombone pieces out there?

  • At my school, we're having a trombone ensemble again. But this year, we got 6 people to be in it. Are there any 6-part pieces out there? If I don't find one, we'll end up doing 2 quartets, meaning 2 people would have to play & pay again.

    Hit all the Renaissance composers - folks like Gabrieli, Schutz, etc. Look around in www.imslp.org. I assume that you have already hit the usual places for printed brass music. Did you look at www.cdsheetmusic.com? How about - and I know this sounds odd - www.clarinetinstrutue.com. They carry a ton of public-domain things - you never know. And there is always 6-part choral music to look at - again, things turn up.
