Notes for Oh Canada on recorder?

How do you read notes with a recorder?

  • I mean, would a sheet of music be playable with all instruments? Could i just go to a music store and get a music sheet and play it with a recorder or would i have to get a special recorder music sheet?

  • Answer:

It would be easier to get a music book for the recorder because regular sheet music is usually designed for playing many notes at once and recorders have a fairly limited range. You can also get Fake Books and E-Z Play today, which feature just one note at a time plus chords.

There actually is sheet music made for recorder. A good site is www.8notes.com. I get my sheet music there for my recorder only. The recorder actually is an instrument, though some don't consider it to be. Good luck!

get music just for recorder if you don't want to have to edit it a little bit. your range is pretty limited, so saxophone music might work well. good luck :)
