Would this be a good beginner's cello?

About how much would i have to spend to get a good cello?

  • ive been taking cello lessons for while now, but i rent the cello, and it isnt very nice (has a repaired neck that snapped off, chips and cracks everywhere, fine tuners freeze up a lot) and i'd like to get my own soon. i'd like to know what makes a cello really good, how much a decent 1 wud cost (1 i cud use for a while, get a good sound, and enjoy playing, i dont need a pro cello with all the trimmings to be content) and if possible, links to cellos that you would suggest looking at. thanks

  • Answer:

they range from like 200 dollars to like 1000's of dollars. if you just plan on playing through school then dont get one that will leave you completely broke. good luck. you'll make a good investment.

Cellos aren't cheap. If you want one that's reliable, easy to play and has a pretty good sound you need to spend close to $2000. If you get the cheapest one you can find you'll probably end up with a whole new set of problems.
