What is PLL digital tuning?

Can tuning your guitar to open tuning alot wear out your guitar strings?

  • I play a lot of Mumford & Sons song and most of their songs are in open tuning on guitar, i also play A LOT of other songs that are in standard tuning and I was just wondering if tuning my guitar back in forth from standard to open tuning will wear the strings out.

  • Answer:

It may do over time, but by tuning it to different tunings all the time, will make it harder to keep the guitar in the tuning you want.

I suppose that, in theory, it will wear them out a little faster, but in practise it won't make any difference. It's playing that wears the strings out.

No it won't I'm going from Drop C# to standard all the time so don't worry P.S be sure to change your strings after 4 months
