Is this a good alto saxophone to buy?

Has there ever been any complaints of a Windsor Alto Saxophone? Or should I buy from a different company?

    Then I would save your money. I've never even heard of them...Check into a Cannonball, and save up. My husband likes them, and he's got a Mark VI and a Series III. Three of his private students saved up and got one, two alto's and a tenor between them. Don't know how they'll hold up because it's a new company, but they're nice now! I tried to research this one, and only found one store who carried it, and there wasn't even a picture. It sounds like a WalMart type thing to me...BEWARE of what sounds too good to be true being too good to be true.

Don't buy a Windsor. Or a Jupiter. Ever. That said, Selmers and Yamahas are generally considered the best brands (highest quality and best sound). Selmers are pricey, but Yamaha's beginner model (YAS-23) is very good and relatively cheap. Also, to violamom, Mark VI and Series III are Selmer models, not Cannonball.

Windsor is just a name being given to saxophones that are copies of others (by what I've found online). Personally, I'd go with something that has a good company name backing them like: Selmer Yamaha Jupiter Cannonball Yanigasawa Keilwerth Anything else is usually a waste of your money. Best to start with a Yamaha. Very cheap and have a great tone.
