Will Vibrato in my voice develop?

When will my voice develop?

• I am so fed up with my small voice. I have spent a lot of money, and a lot of time (not as much effort and time as I should, I must admit) and I still have an inadequate voice. It's incredibly frustrating. I stand here and watch my friends develop a natural vibrato without a minute of training, and I've invested some time in it, and I have no vibrato. I don't want to be a singer, per sa, but I need to be able to sing to be an actor. And I want to be an actor. When exactly is the normal time for people to develop vibrato? I'm just so tired of waiting. I'm loosing my competitive edge without a good voice. Because it seems that your voice doesn't matter if it doesn't have vibrato. That's a prerequisite, and how well you can control your vibrato is what they listen for. But if you don't have vibrato at all, your out. I am just so tired of waiting. I don't feel like I've improved at all. I mean, I know what to do, but my body won't do it. Just so incredibly frustrating.

  What does your voice teacher say? Your voice develops through practice and hard work. If you do not put in the time wishes will not make it so. As your voice develops your vibrato will also develop. There are certain basic things you must do when singing, as you breathe in your shoulders should not go up, and use your diaphragm muscle to push the air out. Make sure that you are filling your lungs correctly. If your work hard (really really hard) and use your instrument correctly you voice will develop. Since you want to go into the theatre the technique to project to an audience (without shouting) are similar. good luck and get working. ps I am a voice teacher
