Is there a certain thickness or type of picks on a acoustic guitar?
-
My sis is getting a MUCH better guitar and shes giving me hers so can I use a thicker pick because i like them more so what should I do
-
Answer:
picks are by choice/\ I play without a pick, my grandson uses a stiff pick and his friend uses a felt pick. We each have our own sound.

What type of pick you use is primarily about personal preference. Different shapes, thicknesses, and materials do affect the sound, but it's mostly about you being comfortable. I use the Dunlop Jazz III nylons... the red ones. I have trouble playing with anything else now. They're awesome.

you can use any pick you want: thin, medium, or thick.
