Is RADA still a good drama school nowadays?

Which acting School is better RADA or Julliard's drama division?

  • Answer:

Having worked with alumni of both schools, I've long been more impressed with the RADA training. Both address the obvious stuff like text analysis, styles, diction, and voice control [etc etc etc], RADA does more with physical body training. I ended up studying with a colleague who attended RADA, and we did some fascinating work on posture, balance, head movements, and particularly hand movements/gestures, since the hands are often as important as the face in acting. He said he took a class that was solely devoted to the study of hand/arm control, and at first thought he would die from the tedium -- though he gave me an obviously shorter version of it, it was nonetheless a significant learning experience, and I still practice my hand control daily. Oh, and the alumni from Juilliard have struck me as being more focused on their egos than their craft.

Julliard Hands down!!!

StarStatus

I'm going to disagree and say Julliard. They didn't get there reputation for nothing. However I'm also going to suggest checking out The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. They have awesome training and most of there graduates end up in big movies or TV shows.
