What note does a soprano saxophone tune to?
-
From saxophone players out there I know that the alto tunes to f# but what note does the soprano and tenor tune to?
-
Answer:
actually, the soprano is good to tune to concert Bb (which is not F# on soprano, it is c, and the good one to tune to is C in the staff). the reason you tune to that c is because of the tuning tendencies of the soprano, for every other sax, you are going to want to tune to the F# on the sax. you might also tune to the octave key G (concert F) on tenor as well as F#.
