What are some easy (but not too ease) solos that an intermediate guitar player can learn to play?
-
I have been playing for almost a year and a half, and what to start soloing. I can play the intro to Fade to Black solo, and the first solo in Master of Puppets. Any recommendations on other not so difficult solos i could learn to play?

Answer:
try learning the end solo of fade to black. it's really not too bad. if you have guitar pro on your computer you can slow it down as much as you need to learn it properly. its what i do with any intricate riffs/solos/etc that i come across. i also like the solo from hand of blood by bullet for my valentine. its not too long and its not to complex, but they have some cool harmonies and there's a few different variations within the solo. gunshot to the head of trepidation and like light to the flies by trivium also have cool solos. i think the one in gunshot is it a bit more advanced but i can't be sure of that. i'm not really a solo guy so this is probably the best i can do. i'm more of a riff type of guy. they can be as complex as solos, but i just seem to find them easier i guess and i really just like how they sound. if you want to learn some sweet riffs, check out As I Lay Dying, Protest the Hero, or The Human Abstract (look for songs from Nocturne, I haven't listened to their new one much but the old guitarist from nocturne was ridiculous)

Good thing you got guitar pro. Well, listen to Megadeth. For a beginner, mm..., you should try: She-Wolf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpSlFZVz18c&feature=related Sweating Bullets: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwzhZe50NSI Angry Again (not so easy, but you migth set it as a goal): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L66JP-g6MNA Don't think every Megadeth solo is easy just listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hyn5k5IDmWg Anyway, hope I helped you. Ciao.

AD/DC- Back in Black Guns N Roses- Sweet Child of Mine, Don't Cry Jimi Hendrix- Hey Joe, Red House, Purple Haze Randy Rhoads- Dee Metallica- King Nothing, Fuel, Orion, Unforgiven 1 and 2 Creed- Don't Stop Dancing, Weathered ( The Solo is cool) Hope this helps.
If you're into punk music at all, id say try there. Greenday has some really easy solos to learn. Misfits Rancid Even try to write your own solos!

Like most self-taught guitarists, you're going about it all wrong. Just learning intros to songs, or solos from songs, is a useless waste of time. Learning complete songs, from start to finish -- the intro, the rhythm guitar chords and strumming pattern --and being able to play that while singing the song BTW, the solo, and the ending -- is what PLAYING GUITAR is about. If all you know are a handful of intros and solos that you learned off of tab, without actually being able to play the SONGS, you're not a guitar player, you're a poseur. Don't learn SOLOS, learn SONGS. Better yet, take some guitar lessons and actually learn the instrument properly. EDIT: Thank you Kaze, your additional comments confirmed my initial impression of you, which is that you're an arrogant, disrespectful little twit. I've been playing guitar for 37 years and I'm probably old enough to be your mother. Grow up.
