What is considered a fast double bass speed?
-
I've been playing double bass for about 1,5 years now, and I've practiced a lot. Im now somewhere in the area where I play 600-720 notes per minute. Is this fast? Also, how do you count your speed, because I use an electronic kit, with a metronome built in and a grid, which I've setup to go with 120 BPM, so that the distance between every line is 1/120 of a minute. I'm able to play 5-7 notes (varies per day) per 'line' so to say. Are all these 'hits' counted as a single stroke/note, so is this my true speed? And again, is this fast? Thanks to anyone answering.

Answer:
I guess you don't actually mean "double bass" as in the musical instrument, but that you're a drummer using two bass drums?
