Question About Double Majoring?

I have a question about majoring in Music? :) ?

• Okay so I'm reAlly interested in majoring in music, I'm not bragging but I'm pretty good at my French horn. I made the tmea region orchestra and band ( concert was yesterday) and I just love playing. I would like to either be a band director or travel In an orchestra or band when I get older but the problem is I don't think I can learn another instrument because I don't have a way to get one and my band director didn't let anyone Bo matter who they are switch instruments or play oher people's but let me get to my question, if u could answer atleAst one of these that would be helpful :) 1 what should I do to prepare for becomming a pro french hornist 2 how can I prepare for a scholarship on the French horn and what are usually the requirements for one like grades and stuff like that 3 how can i find a good college for majoring in music? 4 if I were to learn other instruments what should they be? 5 how did I Prepare for the all state band? ( or whatever it's called I have no clue but I k ow it's a bi deal and my band director thinks I cab make it 6 what are some tips for reading bass clef? 7 how can I become a better sight reader? 8 and lastly just anything to do wig majoring in music will help:) sorry this is so long but I'm just really curious and ready to start now I know I have a lit o potential from all the success I've already had at such a young age im in 8 th grade I didn't list my Accomplishments though ( that would be werid haha :)

  I'm not a horn player but I'm a music school graduate. You prepare by taking lessons from a good teacher and practicing faithfully, getting your skill level as high as you can, and keeping your grades up. Specific requirements vary by school, but you can count on having to play an audition for the brass faculty. Don't worry about learning other instruments right now. If you go for a music ed degree you'll take classes where you learn the other instruments well enough to teach band. Your private teacher will help you with sight reading and reading bass clef. Your horn teacher and guidance counselor can help you identify good schools to apply to.
