How do you get onto Broadway?

  • How do you get to perform on Broadway? Info on me: I've taken a 6 week acting class, i won a competition that involved acting/improv in my state (2nd place) and competed in Tennessee, i've done a play in a theatre camp i was in (Aladdin was the play) what do i have to do to get on Broadway?

    If you read Playbill, you will see that the vast majority of people performing on Broadway had degrees in theater or music all theater form the finest colleges; at one point, there was a graduate of NYU in *every single* Broadway show running. There are also literally tens of thousands of graduates of those school who have NOT been accepted for any Broadway show, not matter how often they audition, or how long and prestigious THEIR list of credits is. Your 6-week class is looking pretty lame in comparison - you need TONS more education and experience. You goal right now is to work and study towards acceptance into a TOP theater/musical theater college program. With it, these is still no guarantee - but without it, you are doomed.

It's really easy.. especially for a great natural talent like you.. all you have to do i move to New York City and go to OPEN AUDITIONS where you will be competing against 2000 or 3000 or MORE other hopefuls who will all have been taking SINGING and DANCING and ACTING lessons since they were 4 or 5 years old and all you have to do is perform BETTER than the others.. that should be a piece of cake for someone who have been studying acting for 6 whole weeks... Good Luck
